Basic Rules of a Trivia Game

If you have never played a trivia game before, and especially a drinking trivia game, here are a few things you should keep in mind that will help you understand and play the game with your buddies:

Materials Needed:

  • Your friends
  • A fun list of questions and answers (or you could also buy some trivia game cards)
  • A lot of alcohol of choice
  • Pen and paper to write down the answers (optional) – else just say it out loud

Choosing the drinks

  • To make it more fun, you can write down the names of different types of alcohol and put them in a bowl.
  • Each time someone is supposed to have a drink, the other team or the other players read out one of the names from the bowl, and whatever type of alcohol is written on it, the player(s) have to drink that.

How to Play the Game:

  1. To start the game, you start by choosing one person who will start off with the questions.
  2. You could either do this on an individual basis, or, if you want, you can also divide up your friends into teams.
  3. In this case, one person from each team asks a question, while the players from the other team have to guess.
  4. In case you are playing as an individual, one person asks the question and the rest of the players try to come up with the answers.
  5. If they answer correctly, the player who asked the question drinks.
  6. If they answer incorrectly, the player(s) who answered incorrectly drinks.
  7. In case you are playing as a team, one person from the team asks a question and the other team tries to give the answer.
  8. If the other team answers correctly, everyone from the team that asked the question drinks.
  9. If the other team answers incorrectly, everyone from the team that answered drinks.
